Is there a limit with 3d printing?

The 3d printing industry has created a storm pushing and challenging the limits of creativity. It seems everyone is trying his or her hardest to design and discover the next big thing using this cutting-edge technology. It’s important to know that 3d printing has been around for some time, although it has never been so popular or made as many headlines as it currently is right now.

When these 3d printers first came on the scene, its use was limited to only scientists and engineers, mostly due to cost and the difficulty of operation. Today the price of 3d laser scanners and printer equipment has dramatically dropped, allowing smaller companies and avid hobbyists to purchase them.

This has meant that small to mid-sized businesses have been able to bring the technology in-house and learn about it, which has saved money since outsourcing work was no longer required. Newer models have also become far easier to operate giving hobbyists and beginners the opportunity to operate them with far more ease. It is not necessary to be an engineer in order to understand how it all functions and creates now.

The process of 3d printing is fairly simple method. Initially, a first layer is printed out and left to cool; after this layer has cooled other layers are fused on top of each other using laser light and heat until the object is formed. The proper name for this process is called additive manufacturing. Many manufacturing companies from around the globe have seen a substantial reduction in waste costs due to this new process.

We are well within the digital manufacturing age and the demand for its services is at an all-time high.  The way we purchase things is on a route towards being radically changed, with more and more materials available to use, the sky is the limit for this advanced technology.
